We're pleased to confirm that Ruth now has been given a 12 month visa.

12/9/10 : Do you accept PaPal? (DR)

The pope's visit to the UK on Thursday, plans start with a procession along Princes Street in Edinburgh. Apparently "someone" has paid an actor to play John Knox and walk before the pope's convoy.
Rome never does anything by accident. Like the returning Roman conqueror parading his vanquished(?) foe, this is very likely to be a statement against the man most responsible for turning Scotland into a Protestant country. It's officially though, an ecumenical gesture... (apparently)

Edinburgh was also the location for the slow drawn out deaths of  many "covenanters" kept cold and starving in Greyfriars Kirk (church) -yard.

There's a symbolic statement in London where the pope will pray at the shrine of Edward the Confessor? (Answers on a postcard please)

What about the deal with beatifying, John Henry Newman? He was a major force behind the Oxford Movement and ecumenism. His original stomping ground was Oxford in the same location as the "Oxford Martyrs": Cranmer, Ridley and Latimer.
Who are they? Do your homework Christians!!!

Ok, well, here's an informed video, that will challenge many of you out there. Richard Bennett and Michael de Semlyen analyze the focal point of the Pope’s state visit to the UK on 16th September 2010. Their focus is the Pope’s presentation of the second stage of John Henry Newman’s path to "Sainthood".

17/8/10 : Oil found in Rosh Ha'ayin, Israel (DR)

Oil in the news again! On the day two of us left Israel to come home, there is breaking news about an oil discovery in the Rosh HaAyin area of Israel. The discovery estimates 1.5 billion barrels, and there is more oil off-shore, but it is not yet known how much of the “black gold” can be extracted for commercial use.

The new estimate, along with the gas and oil finds off the Mediterranean Coast, raise the likelihood that Israel will be self-sufficient for energy for the next three decades and even become an exporter of gas. The amount of oil at Rosh HaAyin represents a tiny percentage of Israel's oil consumption, but development is continuing in the area as well as in the Dead Sea.

Economists have noted that the discoveries will have a huge impact on society, creating more jobs and strengthening the shekel against world currencies.

Some, good news for Israel. Thank you Lord. Pray for Israel. Prophecies in Deuteronomy indicate that “oil” and “hidden treasures” under the sea and the sands will be found in Israel in the last days of history. It is also based on the prophecies of Ezekiel 38 & 39 indicating that Israel will be significantly prosperous in the last days, before an alliance forms against her and seeks to destroy her. The Lord will have the last say on that , of course!

Jealousy will no doubt be kindled in the surrounding nations. Suddenly the delineation of Israel's borders will be urgent. Suddenly Israel is friends with Greece. Is the sea around Cyprus to be contested with Turkey soon, because of potential oil reserves?  Watch this space.

Finally, Iran is due to receive it's first load of nuclear fuel for one of it's reactors on 21st August 2010. Will there be a strike on the facility, before this delivery? As mentioned, pray for Israel... God's will be done.

1/7/10 : Whose report have you believed ? (DR)

Further to the 'blood slick' article further down the page; Adam Curtis is an unsung documentary maker for the BBC and has produced some of the most profound, unnerving and thought provoking films for the BBC over the years. for example "The Power of Nightmares" and "A Century of Self"  An example of this much needed investigative journalism can be found below (in blue text), in a recent article by him. This is from his own website. I felt it was better to quote him, rather than rehash the information he presents.

"BP is accused of destroying the wildlife and coastline of America, but if you
look back into history you find that BP did something even worse to America.
They mat have given the world Ayatollah Khomeini.

Of course there are many factors that led to the Iranian revolution, but back
in 1951 the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company - which would later become BP -
and its principal owner the British government, are suspected by some of
conspiring to destroy democracy and install a western-controlled regime
in Iran. The resulting anger and the repression that followed was one of the
principal causes of the Iranian revolution in 1978/79 - out of which came the
Islamist regime of Ayatollah Khomeini.

And what's more, BP and the British government were so inept at handling the crisis that they had to persuade the Americans help them. The then Foreign Secretary, Herbert Morrison, wanted to invade Iran. They did this by pretending there was a communist threat to Iran. The American government, led by President Eisenhower, believed them and the CIA were instructed to engineer a coup which removed the Iranian prime minister Mohamed Mossadegh.

And the resulting anger at the coup among Iranians went very deep. It is at the root of why America is now known as "The Great Satan" in Iran, and why the American embassy in 1979 was targeted.
Just as a background to The Anglo Iranian Oil Company. It had been created in 1901 and held a monopoly on Persian oil. The contract was grossly unequal. The company paid Iran only 16% of the money it earned from selling the country's oil. But it was probably even less than that. In 1950 alone the British company earned more in profit than it had paid Iran in royalties since 1901.

The company promised to build facilities - schools and hospitals - for the Iranian workers. But it didn't. The workers lived in a fly-blown hell, a shanty town called Kaghazabad, or Paper City. The workers were paid minimal wages and, as the film points out, the company decided to cut their hardship allowances in the middle of the crisis.

At the time BP argued that only the British oil company has the skill
to deal with disasters - in particular blow-outs and explosions at oil
wells. (Ironic today I suppose). The Iranians wouldn't know how to
put them out, it says. But the British do and so should be allowed to
stay in Iran because then it would be “safe” in British hands.

The only problem was that the Shah of Iran - Mohammed Reza Shah
- didn't want to join in the scheme. But then the Americans sent
General Norman Schwarzkopf to the Shah's palace. (Schwarzkopf's
son led Operation Desert Storm). He bluntly told the Shah that he
had no choice as Britain and America had already decided to go ahead.

The coup succeeded and Mossadegh was overthrown. But the price for the British was high. The Anglo-Iranian Oil Company now had to share the oil - with the Americans. A new consortium was formed. The leading American oil companies took a 40% share, while AIOC also had a 40% share. And in 1954 it changed its name to “British” Petroleum.
But the price for the Americans was also high. They had got the oil, and they had installed a pliable dictator in Iran. But the anger against their ruthless conspiracy was still seething - not just among the left but also among the conservative merchant class. These two groups would come together under the leadership of Ayatollah Khomeini in 1978 - their persistent anger at America and Britain being the force that bound them together.

But British Petroleum didn't give up on trying to subvert and avoid the decisions of democratic governments. In particular its own, British, government.
In 1965 the white minority Rhodesian government declared Independence from Britain to stop the imposition of what was called "majority rule". The Labour government imposed sanctions to try and topple the regime. A number of countries broke the sanctions - including Iran. But so did some British companies - notably two of the big oil companies - Shell and BP.
But at the very same time the BBC had decided to make an epic 9-part documentary series about British Petroleum. (AKA The Philpott File); and in 1980 the films were shown at prime time on BBC-2. They were presented by Trevor Philpott

The films were pretty sycophantic. At that time BP was still owned by the British government - and what you see is one large state-run organisation paying its respects to another.
But one of the films is fascinating in the light of the present BP crisis. It is about how the new intake of BP managers is selected, the kind of training they get, and how they will progress up the company. But the voices of the executives - and their tone. In them you can hear the echoes of both the post-imperial arrogance and the lazy diffidence that led to the inept and cruel handling of the Abadan crisis back in 1951. And maybe to the inept and arrogant response to the crisis in America today."

So... British? Petroleum; Sometimes looking into the background of media headlines, can help us discern more accurately, the real motives and ambitions of world 'players'. It can help us look soberly past rhetoric and good PR, to understand all sides of a situation. I'm not condoning the regime in Iran, by the way. The murderous threats the "government" breaths out against Israel, the USA and it's own people etc are vile... evil. But he who is without sin cast the first stone. There's a wake up call, right there. Before Nations presume to parade around declaring "God is on our side", God is looking for who is on HIS!

As Christians, what do we do with information like this? Wisdom leads us to take it to The Lord in prayer, then without becoming cynically paranoid, we must avoid being taken-in by everything you hear in the media. Check things out! We are people of the Truth are we not?
Dig a little below the surface of how things appear. Inquire of The Lord regarding it.

The church is called to teach NATIONS! I believe this is, of course, individuals and leaders of nations; but also the nation itself. This includes culture, priorities, how it treats others, who/what is worshiped etc. The media tends to be a false prophet in all of this. The Lord will be supernaturally backing those He sends into Nations; God disciplines those He loves. In His kindness He is bringing consequences to the Nations as well as individuals. The call is to return (repent) back to Him and recognise that He is who He says He is... The only true living God. and that there is but one name given under heaven by which we are saved, Jesus Christ. Teach...disciple, the Nations. Who will draw attention to and explain this as it unfolds on the news?

Christians need to be innovative and challenging within the media world. We are not trying to be political or militant, but if the "Official" church leaders are passive regarding issues they should speak on, the rocks must cry out. How about some accurate and prophetic documentaries?

Where are the Christians in the field of Journalism and Reporting? Let the world hear you!

The time to SPEAK has come! If you can do better than me on this website... brilliant, go for it... please!!! - but do Speak up...  We must possess the land (of issues in our selves and out there) Let us not be like the  tribes of Israel and settle down with the Canaanites in the land. This leads to compromise and lukewarmness.

May God bless you and keep you in perfect peace, wherever He leads you, in your sphere of influence.

MAY 2010

4/5/10 : "Return of the Land-Lords" (DR)

The Lord drew my eye to a report by Reuters today, that seems to have come in under the radar. Something to watch and pray as it develops... and it will develop as an issue!!!

Many firms in Wall Street's financial district invest in things you can't touch: currency futures, index options, credit derivatives and so on. Some have, so far, ploughed more than $1 billion into actual farmland, mostly in the United States. Investment Groups are currently wagering serious money, if not quite betting the farm, on corn, soybeans and other crops.

It is among many large and small private equity firms,
hedge funds, asset managers and other investment groups
hoping to harvest long-term profits from the soil.

In Wall Street terms, the heartland is "hot". Increasingly,
big-city investors emerging from a bruising economic
downturn sparked by the collapse of esoteric financial
products are putting money into Illinois corn fields, California
cranberry bogs and Brazilian sugarcane. Overseas, African
farms, as well as ones in Australia and Eastern Europe,
have emerged as financial opportunities. Australia is
favoured not just for the land but also for the vast amount of
underground water stored in the Artesian Basin.
Water is too becoming a valuable world commodity.

One investor said "Interest has been growing; in the age of derivatives and evaporating valuations, farmland is Gold with a cash flow."

Investment groups say that agriculture has seldom been more appealing.

The World Bank and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) cited the trend in a report in January, noting a "sharp increase" in agricultural investments the world over. Such private investment could offer "significant benefits to the sector -- not to mention the human race -- by helping modernize farming tools and techniques", the agencies said.

....How nice and thoughtful of them, for a moment there, I thought they were maneuvering themselves in a ruling position, in case 'world food and water' runs out!

Not everybody is thrilled by Wall Street's "speculating", however. Some critics address the implications of the trend, calling it a "modern-day land rush". They worry in particular about what they label an unfair transfer of valuable land and water resources from the poor to the wealthy.
There really is nothing new under the sun, is there?

Investment groups counter that their dollars are key to transforming a diminishing amount of arable land around the world into high-yielding, efficient food factories. And they don't see financial interest ebbing any time soon. "We want to go after the key factor in production -- the land," said one investor. "The end product is food, which is essential for human life." ...Human Life?, yes, I remember that... it's the ultimate "commodity".

Industry estimates put the assets of global farmland for investors at $15 billion in equity spread among about 40 different institutional players globally. But the amount is likely much larger if you take into account government-linked companies such as sovereign funds, individual entrepreneurs and wealthy families.

South America is a particular draw. Investors there are hoping for 20 percent-plus returns from Brazilian soybean and sugarcane fields, which are key suppliers of food, livestock feed and ethanol.

What's driving the market there and elsewhere is staggering Chinese demand for soy products. With an abundant supply of arable land but still undercapitalized farmland in the region, investors hope to generate profits by modernizing equipment, improving farming practices and using better seeds and chemicals that will ultimately yield higher crop production.

Africa, the world's poorest continent, is another hot spot as investments in infrastructure, fertilizer and equipment have long been lacking and are expected to make a big difference in productivity.

Worried about the need to feed a huge and booming population, Chinese interests are working in some African countries to help raise food and biofuel production. Water-poor Middle Eastern and Gulf nations are also looking to secure food supplies as the world population is forecast to rise from 6.9 billion to more than 9 billion by 2050 and experts fear that feeding so many people could prove difficult.

Unlike derivatives and other less
tangible financial products, farms can
arouse nationalistic passions.
The moves in Africa in particular have
engendered some criticism, with
charges of neo-imperialism.

In a statement co-sponsored by more
than 100 organizations from around the
world, the organisation "GRAIN", is
calling for protection of community-
oriented food and farming systems
based on "local people's control over
land, water and biodiversity."

A spokesman said "the investments in farmland by large investors undercuts small farmers who cannot compete to buy ever higher priced land, essentially putting investors in a position of profiting from hunger."

GRAIN, along with the groups from Africa, Asia, Europe and elsewhere, said in a statement that the "current farmland grab... will undermine peoples' self-determination, food sovereignty and survival as never before." The groups said the "multi-functionality, and ecological, social and cultural values of land are being negated" as land is being revalued on purely economic terms. Investors seem undeterred by the controversy.

"There has been reaction, yes. But I personally don't believe we have a
chance of feeding the world without large scale farming," said Hunt Stookey,
managing director of HighQuest Partners strategic consulting group.
"This sector has been underinvested for decades."
This is a fair point as the reality is, investment often has to happen,
in order bring more investment; the biproduct of which can be better
living standard for inhabitants.

The concern with all this, is, will the earth and it's resources,
end up in the hands of the few? Is this the potential beginning of a new
global feudalism? The return of the mediaeval land lords?
But with Squires, Surfs and Peasants having no choice but to serve the
global "elite"?

The earth is The Lords, and everything on it is His. We all are His tenants
and Stewards of His creation! Jesus Christ is our true Land Lord.

Lord, please help us. Please come back soon! Amen.

4/5/10 : "Blood Slick" (DR)

This weeks major oil spill, in the Gulf of Mexico from BP's underwater
drilling, has caused much consternation and anger in America.
Yesterday President Obama rolled his sleeves up, to issue a statement
that America will do all it can to reduce the environmental impact of this
accident. He added, however, that BP (British Petroleum) will be getting
the bill. A very resolute and robust response was needed, because the
impact on the ecosystem in the Gulf of Mexico and it's coastlines is likely
to be terrible. Everyone is, quite rightly, concerned about this.

Would, however, the US President, or any world leader, be so vocal, proactive and personally involved, if what was bubbling up from under the sea was human blood? Many UK and US oil companies have done
very well out of the removal of Saddam Hussein in Iraq... but the price... ...the terrible price.
So much blood cries out from the ground to The Lord.

And what if all the babies murdered by abortion since Obama's first action
as President last year, i.e.dissolving the "Mexico City Policy", could be
illustrated in blood. Imagine if the amount of innocent blood spilt was in
the Gulf of Mexico, instead of that oil slick? It would be about right,
proportionately.
Do any politicians still worship Canaan's "Moloch" today, I wonder?
The sacrifice of all the unborn, has seriously damaged and polluted the
spiritual and moral environment! But not many think in these terms or
challenge it.

Who will pay the bill for this type of spiritual clean up?
If they would but turn to The Lord in repentance, they would see He has
paid the price in the blood of His own Son, Jesus Christ.
The blood of Jesus Christ is invincible.
Christians... challenge the Spiritual Climate-change that is happening,
not just outside, but inside the church.
We must combat Global luke-warming.

3/5/10 : "It's all Greek to me" (DR)

Having returned from Munich in Germany recently, it was fascinating to see how a sequence of unchallenged events created an environment that had someone like Adolf Hitler welcomed into power.
In the late nineteenth century King Ludwig II, was declared insane and then, according to suspicion, assassinated. Ludwig's death allowed the establishment of an office of power known as the 'Kaiser'. The Kaiser's of course were the kingpins in Germany's expanse into Europe in the early 20th Century.
They also led Germany into World War I.

The defeat of Germany led to a set of war reparations that crippled the nation, financially. This led to the environment that made someone like Adolf Hitler and the Nazis a welcome option; to make all the problems "go away"... but at the price of democracy and the individual in society.

There was also a lot of occult activity in Munich, in the 1920's and on through World War II; including the disappearance of many children in the city.

Riots seem to happen a lot in Greece lately. (Reminded also of Paul in Ephesus)
There is great trouble brewing there, at the moment of writing this. Please CLICK HERE.

A little known fact is that in the capital, Athens, during September 2008, dozens of Greek pagans defied police presence and a thunderous downpour,  to huddle near the Parthenon in Athens. They were holding a protest prayer for a museum being built at the foot of the sacred site.

The Greek Culture Ministry had forbade ceremonies of
any sort at archaeological sites.
But the pagan revivalists used a second century temple
of Zeus in Athens to stage the first known ceremony of
its kind in 1,600 years.

Athens-based group, called "Ellinais", an acronym in
Greek for “Sacred Society of Greek Ancient Religionists”
was campaigning to revive the ancient religion.
The group defied Culture Ministry bans on holding
prayers at several ancient temples.
Then, about 200 people, by the leader's estimate,
prayed to Olympian 'Athena', patron of ancient Athens,
to protect the 2,500-year-old site and spare the city
"from harm".

Is it a coincidence that rain started falling when the ceremony started and ended at the same time as the
ceremony? I think not,” said the groups leader at the time. Personally, I don't think The Lord was giving them a complement, by sending a storm. Police made no effort to disrupt the 20-minute convocation. There was no consequence or action, from the Government Authorities.

Orthodox Christianity is the official religion of Greece. Christianity took hold in Greece in the 4th century. Roman Emperor Theodosius wiped out the last vestige of the Olympian gods when he abolished the Olympic Games in 394 A.D.

The Parthenon, built between 447-432 B.C. at the Acropolis as a temple to Athena, was converted into a Christian church in the 5th century A.D. It became a mosque after the Ottoman conquest of Athens in 1456 and is now a museum.

“This was the first prayer ceremony on the Acropolis since Parthenon was converted into a church,” the pagan group smugly said in 2008.

One month later, massive riots broke out across the capital, for over two solid weeks. The nation has financially gone downhill ever since then, to the point that the EU is currently bailing out the country from bankruptcy. To quote the Pagan group above, "is it a coincidence"?

Firstly, there is a consequence, when governments do not follow the ways of The Lord and allow the occult to prevail. (There's a warning for us all)  Secondly, a spiritual and financial environment, such as this, was created in prewar Germany. Therefore please pray for the nation and people of Greece on all levels. Lest it happens again.

1/5/10 : "Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust" (DR)

The Volcano that has erupted in Iceland over the last
weeks is erupting again. The ash and dust has gone
to the highest reaches of the sky, stopping aircraft at
the very altitude they need to get to. They can't fly under
it either, it drops down on them. Fear of overheating
engines, means that many flights in Europe are
grounded for weeks. Buses, trains and ferries are
jammed, due to the amount of people scrambling to
get home.
The Volcano holds an interesting picture for us all.
Biblically, Dust and Ashes are the ground on which
people repented in. (i.e repent in dust and ashes)
The Ash from this volcano reached the highest levels.

God would call out for repentance, to return to Him, at the highest levels; from European leadership, to the corporate world and of course to the everyday person. Will we?

APRIL 2010

1/4/10 : "What's brewing in America?" (DR)

This article was originally posted in January this year; It has since been amended.

A number of years ago, a United States politician called Senator Ron Paul, stood for election as a Republican candidate. Many feel he was intentionally and unfairly left out of national TV debates and other opportunities, by the media. As a result his campaign was harmed.
Ron Paul, however, has started to gain large, sometime rowdy, popularity by campaigning with an event he dubbed his "tea party". Named after the Boston Tea Party protest, that started the American war of Independence. His campaign was to change the "two party" system of politics in the US (of which he feels, there is currently, two sides of the same coin; therefore no real choice) and open the race for president, to all. Also his call and message was to restore much of the US republic's freedoms, that some feel. have been eroded by the 'homeland security act', 'the patriot act' etc. This 'tea party' movement appears to be a good thing. It is campaigning for "limited" government, more accountability to the senate by the president and a return to integrity and overall fairness in US politics.

Initially, Ron Paul's "tea party" gained so much support and momentum, that it was getting independent national press coverage. There was a growing hope and trust in it and him, from lots of Americans now.

The tea party format has now, however, been adopted (or some would say been hijacked) by the "Neo-conservative" (Neo-con) element of the Republican party. However, he is currently still campaigning and gaining even more support outside of the normal political channels and methods to be heard.
This is healthy for America?... isn't it?

Barrack Obama's honeymoon with the American people seems to be waning a bit as he appears to erode freedoms and moral laws with a smile and a possible desire to bypass the elected senate. There are signs now that opposition wannabe's are being wheeled out to become the antithesis of Obama's liberal policies. How? by, say, suggesting the "bombing of Iran", in opposition to
Obamas stance. Some will love it, many may think oh ****, I'll vote
for Obama again.

Contrived conflict? The timing of the tea party movement appears
to be perfect timing.

To the right, is a recent photo of Ron Paul on US TV's 'Bill Mahr's
Real Time' , he seemingly gave a masonic handshake to the other
two guests. His wife is of the Order of the Eastern Star and his
children part of the "rainbows". So, here we seem to have the
classic (provided) "choice". Please do read the article right at the
bottom of this page, dated 1/1/2010 and  called "freedom of choice".
It goes into this issue, a bit more.

Regarding the Church there?  in fact there's a maturity coming to, and out of, the true US church, to go out to the world with a sober, brave and powerful heart, with the Gospel of Jesus. Armed, in Jesus name, only with God's love and word in the Holy Spirit. A Berean discernment is offered to it too! It will need it!

Folks, do Pray for the USA. The "land of Freedom" and the "defender of democracy" has a constitution for a reason! Please pray it's voice is heard over the confusion and assignment against it. The Lord has need of this great nation yet. It's not over by a long shot!!!

It's confusing to try to work out 'who's who' and 'who's for real', The main issue in the last days is and will be, DECEPTION.  Some things out there are designed to confuse, bluff and double bluff; they're not meant to make sense; in the midst of all that remember "The Lord is not the author of confusion!"
We must go back to The Lord and His word - It's the only safe place for us.

Dear America, have a spiritual tea party; throw over board all lies, unbiblical traditions, false religions (regardless of their claims of pedigree) and secret societies. You have a light that is now kindling, into a maturity, you really haven't seen in your history. May Jesus name be glorified! Represent Him well.
All our love, some nameless, faceless UK brothers and sisters in Jesus, who happen to be praying for you at this crucial point in time. XXX

MARCH 2010

31/3/10 : "Shooting the body of Christ in the foot" (DR)

In the last days, Christians must not incubate fear. We must  take hope because Jesus is coming back soon. Issues in the news appear to be all in line with what Jesus said would happen. Sadly, where fear, anger and bitterness take root, some "Christian" (?) communities can isolate themselves. The Bible says that "the weapons of our warfare are not carnal" Yet some, for instance in the US recently, tend to stock up on gas masks, weapons, and ruthless survivalist training. In the USA this week, a so-called "Christian"  militia group called "Hutaree" was raided by federal authorities.
If the charges are correct, i.e. police intercepted messages discussing the
murder of government officials, they deserve to be arrested.
News channels such as CNN mocked them for holding a fear of the
"New World Order". It  is something they were planning to resist apparently.
Jesus warns us that "all those who take up the sword, shall die by the sword."
Unfortunately, what groups like this end up doing, is giving ammo
(pardon the pun) to those who would wish to include sincere Christians in the
"Fanatic" & "Fundamentalist" camp - (to date almost uniquely ruled by Islamic
jihadists) Now this militia, have become the case study and precedent of a
"Christian" extremist group. Unlikely to be the last (sadly)

So then? can you hear it? It's the sound of more legislation approaching.

The Southern Poverty Law Center in America, recently reported a resurgence in politically motivated militias, which emerged in the 1980s under perceived threats to conservative rights and conspiracies about a United Nations takeover when President George H.W. Bush spoke of a “New World Order.”
No thanks to the fear of worldly groups like this, there's an irony in that they've now helped to re-enforced some very real plans for a "New World Order".

Jesus said “And because lawlessness will increase, the love of many will grow cold”
So hold on until the end and wait for Him! The shaking of the heavens and the shaking of the earth we're starting to feel? … take heart, the shaking you feel is like the footsteps of a Bridegroom … approaching … on the way!

We are not to “worry” about world events - now, or soon!  Must we pray and take our place in God’s plan, in these times? ...should we have a correct biblical "fear of the Lord?" Yes, of course!
but we must not worry or fear. We need all the fruits of God’s Spirit, especially to have God’s peace and God’s love in the ’midst of it all’ - Whatever ‘it’ will look like.

In these days, God’s kindness to His Bride, is that He already has us in training … if we could all only but recognise it as such.

A clue is to check how you respond or react to ‘hate or injustice’ towards you or those close to you.  Let the Lord train us then!  We all will so need His love and His peace like those before us, in the Book of Acts, very soon. New disciples will be born in the ‘midst of it all’ … if we are faithful to the Lord. His sovereign power and his invincible hand will move. All created things will see it. In the mean time, as Apostle Paul said: “To live is Christ, to die is gain” - Even if circumstance tries to convince us we’re ‘losing’, to be found in Jesus Christ … whether we live or die, we win. Thank you Lord. Lord Jesus, until you return, we pray YOUR will is done on earth, as in Heaven. Amen.

23/3/10 : "You can recognise a Wolf... by it's Diet" (DR)

Last month, an atheist preacher was allowed to stay in office by the "Protestant" Church of the Netherlands.

The regional church assembly in the southwestern town of Zierikzee decided that preacher Klaas Hendrikse's views do not fundamentally differ from those of other liberal theologians in the Protestant Church. A clerical court case against Mr Hendrikse has been suspended. The decision was sadly opposed only by about a quarter of the representatives, at the regional meeting.

Mr Hendrikse was subjected to an inquiry following the publication of his
book, "Believing in a God who does not exist". In it, Mr Hendrikse explains
that he does not believe in a personal God, or in his words, "To me God is
not a being, but a word for what can occur between people." He has since
been loosely referred to as "the atheist preacher", although he has not
declared himself a total non-believer. (yet)

Mr Hendrikse preaches from pulpits in Dutch-Reformed (?) parishes in the
cities of Middelburg and Zierikzee, in Zeeland province. His is a late 'calling'
(by who?), as he took up theology only later in life, after a career with a
photocopying manufacturer. He'll know what a 'facsimile' of the real thing is,
then.

Later this year the national administration of the Protestant Church will tackle the issue of how to discuss God in church. Formed only in 2004, the "Protestant" Church of the Netherlands (inverted commas added) consists of the Reformed Churches, the Dutch-Reformed Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

It's said you can spot a wolf by it's diet. Please watch and pray against this sort of apostasy... it's not the last we will hear from this puppet "preacher", because he is not in place by accident. Jesus said "you will know them by their fruit". To say you are a Christian (a follower of Christ) but not be one, is actually taking upon yourself, The Lord's name in vain! Proverbs 26:24-26 says "He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him; When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart. Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation."

However, just as serious, is the precedent allowed by the church in Holland, in leaving such a person in authority. It will mean that the damage caused in bowing to this "spirit", will be followed by serious consequences from The Lord - if they do not repent of this decision! A biblical "fear of The Lord" is urgently needed here. Currently, one could apply Proverbs 25:26 which says "A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring"

Pretending to be aligned with the protestant stance and then bringing it into disrepute, is a classic strategy of the Counter-reformation; to pretend to be one thing, then fail miserably will be shown in contrast with a more traditional 'system'. Compared to this joker, anything stalwart and traditional will appear to carry more integrity. It's like planting a bomb and then turning up in an ambulance, to be seen as the rescuer.

Please pray for the Church in Holland, for a boldness from The Lord to speak up! A revenge is obviously now falling upon her, from within. 20/3/10 :  Tony Blair to launch Faith Foundation in the USA (DR)

Tony Blair originally launched his "Faith Foundation" in 2008.

Now that Mr. Blair has assembled a collection of influential religious
leaders from the major world religions, he is preparing to embark on
his "faith offensive" across the United States.

In an interview, back in 2008, Mr. Blair said he defined extremists as
"people who want to exclude the other if someone is of a different faith".
(that's rich, coming from a convert to "mother" (?) Rome... oh yes ..."ecumenism" I forgot)

His definition above, could mean anything. It creates a concern for Christians who want to protect their freedom to declare that salvation is found only in Jesus Christ – not out of prejudice or hate, but out of believing what Jesus said about Himself and also to the Bible, as the only Word of God!

You'll recall Tony Blair was famous for re-dubbing the UK Labour Party, "New Labour".
So what have we here? New World Order? hhhmmm.

6/3/10 :  No news for a while (DR)

Apologies, New articles have been "on hold", most of this month, whilst maintenance of the website was carried out. Thank you for your understanding.

5/2/10 : E-Speakers Corner (DR)

Calls to introduce a licensing system to police the Internet on behalf of a powerful UN agency, represent the latest salvo in a long-running battle to kill free speech on the web. There is a lot of rubbish in the Internet of course, but this proposal could bring an end to the powerful digital democracy that has arisen; for instance, the exposing of the UN's carbon tax agenda by open discussion of the "Climategate" scandal.

Surprise, surprise, the UN International Telecommunications Union secretary general Hamadoun Toure told the World Economic Forum in this years 'Davos' conference this past weekend, that global treaties need to be enacted in the name of stopping "cyber warfare". The recent infiltration of Google, by Chinese hackers last month was sighted as an example to justify this move. However this will also act as a form of control, over the majority of honest and law abiding internet users.

Craig Mundie, chief research and strategy officer for Microsoft, told fellow globalists at the summit that the Internet needed to be policed by means of introducing licenses similar to drivers licenses - in other words government permission to use the web.

"We need a kind of World Health Organization for the Internet," he said.

"If you want to drive a car you have to have a license to say that you are capable of driving a car, the car has to pass a test to say it is fit to drive and you have to have insurance."

There has already been talk of requiring journalistic licenses or certifications to prevent bloggers (re: citizens) from having the ability to talk about news and world events from their own editorial perspective or presenting their own research online.

JANUARY 2010

29/1/10 : Iran the race set out before me (DR)

At least 14 Christians have been detained in Iranian prisons for weeks without legal counsel, in the past few months. This is part of last year’s continuing crackdown. All, but one, are accused of "apostasy", in this case converting to Christianity from Islam. (Click for more).
Please pray for their release.

Iran's government is somewhat in crisis with so many of its citizens continuing to openly protest against it, and that this was an opportune moment to lash out against Christians. Focusing in Christians in this way, may provide a scapegoat for them.
“They see that the West is keeping quiet about Christians,” said the source.

It may be that, with so many Muslims in Guantanamo Bay prison for years, without trial , Governments in the west may, quite rightly, feel hypocritical. Is there now, as George Orwell puts it, such a thing as "thought-crime"? Many may have been planning terrorist attacks, but it needs to be proved in open court!

What sort of "way of life" are we "preserving" anyway, if in "fighting terror", they set this precedent. Locking people away without trial for years, used to be the realm of the very despot regimes the west claims to be fighting against.

Dishonest scales, The Lord Abhors!

Soon governments in the west may see Christians as a threat; what misuse of anti-terror laws (already in place) will ensue then?

Whatever we as Christians think of Islam, we should be speaking up for the Truth!  Pray that the innocent, wherever they are in jail, are given justice and freedom. How we treat them, is how we treat Jesus. Are we to leave 'loving pro-action', only to a good Samaritan? Who is your neighbour? Champion truth! and win them for Jesus Christ.

17/1/10 : Expanding 'Camp X-Ray' (DR)

The "mild" x-ray security now being brought into the worlds airports sees through our clothes. Some civil rights groups are already highlighting the potential for this see-through imaging, to be abused, for example by pedophiles etc. Also, apart from potential health risks from any radiation, it is going to be humiliating for us all, is it not? At this rate, you start to wonder if there'll be any 'way of life'  left to protect from "terrorists"?

A slight side note here; after the concentration camps were discovered in WWII, Heinrich Himmler, stated that they used to strip the Jews and other prisoners naked, just before gassing them. The reason is that they found this pacified the people from protesting or resisting. Not that, that is coming next, but it' was a technique of social pacification that worked. What next? Portable x-ray scanners in Police cars/Shopping Centres/ High Street CCTV?
"Oh but there's a constant threat! It's for your safety - (so go back to sleep)" See Proverbs 6:9-11
Hmmm.

1/1/10 : Happy New Year (DR)

To all our visitors (all two of them, ha ha) - Have a new year... happy, yes, but new!
2010? Anything prophetic upwind from today? (Please click here)

1/1/10 : Persecuted Christians (DR)

Already there are reports of increased persecution of Christians around the world.
(Thanks to Julie Groves for the heads up).
Burma is still suffering under the military dictatorship. Terrible incidents against Christians are being reported - yet still they sing to The Lord in the midst - remember them!

In Eritrea (East Africa) too. Please pray for the church in this land. Evil is being waged against Christians here, as you read this.

Please do intercede for the saints, that The Holy Spirit would increase love, peace, strength and boldness, in the face of this treatment - so that others will be saved there in the midst. (DR)

“For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness." (Ezekiel 34:11-12)

1/1/10 : Freedom of choice (DR)

Watching the various Christian TV stations can seem so "diverse", i.e. on one side you have the, so called, "Christian right" (the Pat Robertsons, John Hagees etc), who appear to speak oh so boldly on 'issues', then you have the Joel Olsteens who don't want to offend anyone, so avoid using words like Sin or Repentance. You have others rallying like crusaders, against Islamic domination (yes, a real threat), but ignore the quiet machinations of Rome; you get the shouting Nigerian "man of got", you have the back-combed, nice suit, "sow your seed" crew (aka "gis us yer money, or God will not bless you") You get the scholarly Chuck Misslers and occasionally, we get to see, deeply insightful, Graham Cooke. There's champions on UCB, Revelation and Genesis TV.  Wow, what a choice. We all have our favourites; we can hear what WE want to listen to, when WE want to listen to it. Or do we?

I remember once going in to 'Waterstones' book shop, to buy a couple of books. Next door was the rival bookshop 'Dillons' (since gone bust) I found the books I wanted in Waterstones, but thought, "I wonder if either of them are cheaper next door?" So I went to the rival book shop and found one of them cheaper, so I bought it there and then went back to the first shop and bought the other book. What a good deal, I thought That's a healthy situation; it's good to have choice.
I'm glad I got the books cheaply, but it dawned on me that there was no real choice! Later I discovered that Waterstones had bought out Dillons a long time previously. The same firm owned both shops. PC World, Currys and Dixons are owned by the same company; many newspapers with seemly different views, are all owned by Rupert Murdoch. Simon Cowell, although he pretends to, doesn't care who wins X-Factor, as either way he makes his money. Is there a difference in the policies of Labour and Conservatives any more?
We all think we are exercising freedom of choice, but what if all the choices are provided by the same source. We can fall for an illusion that we are making a choice and exercising free expression.

When we watch Christian TV, good as a lot of it is, what seems like diversity, is rather tabloid.
As Christians we must test everything - even what I'm saying here. The Bereans were considered of noble character, by Paul. This was because they checked what he said, by comparing it to scripture, to see if what he said was true. Paul didn't say, "How dare you, don't you know who I am?" He commended them for this good practice, because he knew that sooner or later wolves would try to come in.

Please discern by The Holy Spirit and Scripture, when watching "Christian" TV channels. Not cynically or with overt suspicion, but because we 'love the truth' (2 Thessalonians 2:10-11). Any bible teacher, worth their salt, would encourage this. We have our favourites on tv a?  (One loves Paul, another Apollos, ha ha)
Sometimes new theories, Christianese buzzwords or phrases, get into our vocabulary and we accept them, without checking where it came from or if it contradicts God's word in anyway. Just because it's on the telly... Yes God is doing a new thing, but even if an angel comes to us with a different gospel let...
...well you know the scripture! - (I hope)

Before swallowing anything, chew it over... taste and see - if it's good, receive and digest it, if it's off, spit it out! Keep honestly discerning and take care in 2010.

Quote of the month:

"The day...may be very near when we shall all have to fight
the battle of the Reformation over again"
H. Grattan Guinness, quoting Robert Peel, in 1887.

Please Note:
all comments, articles and prayer points here, are speculative, albeit 'prophetically speculative'.

The aim being to give a blog-like  "heads-up" to Christians about current or potential events/issues, we believe are on The Lord's heart for some reason.

We feel this is all given so as to suggest focus in prayer etc, in the name of Jesus Christ, for The Lord's will to be done regarding them.

We would also encourage your personal, God given, discernment.
